#Mr.Not Phuket Tour

#Mr.Not Phuket - so what is all this about?

Well he is just this guy and I have never met him - but the couple I just met said that what he organised for them was great.

This seems to be his website for linking to the tours he helps organise?
This couple were fans of his Instagram pictures.
Then I found him on YouTube.
If you look at his photographs on Facebook he does seem to be as well.
Then here he is on TripAdvisor!

Have you met him?

Yaksha or Yuk - Temple Guardians

Tosakanth Ravana
I have posted previously about the Temple Guardians that are at many temples in Phuket for example Wat Srisoonthorn.

Cakravarti
What I didn't know was that they all had names! When we last travelled to Australia from Bangkok Airport I took a photo of each one to see if they matched any of the ones which I had seen here in Phuket.

Suriyaphob
There are a total of twelve Yuks in the Departure Hall.

Indrajit
They were not always there but that is another story.

Maiyarab

Then there are newer Yuks - visit Wat Phra Nang Sang!!!!
Sahassadeja

Askan-Mara
Mangkorakarn
Virulhok

Global Shark Tracker (App)

Are there any sharks in Phuket?

Description

OCEARCH's Global Shark Tracker lets you observe the navigational pattern of sharks that have been tagged with satellite tracking technology all for the purpose of shark conservation.

OCEARCH facilitates unprecedented research by supporting leading researchers and institutions seeking to attain groundbreaking data on the biology and health of sharks, in conjunction with basic research on shark life history and migration.

Well using this App there does not seem to be any around Phuket so I reckon you are pretty safe...

Well then I spoke to my friend Nick who tells me that he sees black tipped sharks? sometimes when he has been fishing.

Then I read that Sea Bees (a Diving Company in Phuket) organise dives to watch the sharks, there is a Shark Point but TripAdvisor warns you to be careful of the sharks on the land!

Cost: Free
Ease of use: simple
Comment: the App says No - but there are if you know where to go

Maps - A trip to Koh Yao Noi

You must make a vist to Ko Yao Yai and / or Ko Yao Noi - they are the islands just off the East coast of Phuket Island - fabulous.

There are more Phuket Maps on Google or here.

Borae local market

Borae Market is somewhere quite close to our home so we have been more than once but I have realised that I have not posted for 5 years.

Borae Market is somewhere you would visit if you were looking for a very typical food market.

Always a fascinating selection of seafood to choose from.

I have seen these giant sea snails previously - but I have never tried them myself.

Then there were the more traditional snails which seemed to be trying to get out of the box?

The selection is varied and I always wonder what I will find next - I am still unsure as to what these are.

Opening a lift door

Published on 5 Feb 2016
After a fight at a KTV hall in Hangzhou city in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, a drunken 24-year-old kicked the elevator door. But little did he know that he would fall to the first floor from the fourth floor. Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries apart from a fractured leg.

How do all these make their way onto the Internet?

Then I read the comments...

Sometimes the Internet is too much...

4 Flavour regions of Thailand

Where are you going in Thailand? because this will affect the type of Thai food you eat.

I live in Phuket and I cannot eat the yellow sour curry!

Restaurants in Phuket - รานสมตำเมองคอน สะพานหน

รานสมตำเมองคอน สะพานหน is a restaurant that we choose to go to in Sapan Hin. At the current time Sapan Hin is a place which is predominantly used by the local Thai people and I cannot list how many times we have visited for I don't know how many different
reasons.

The best reason for visiting รานสมตำเมองคอน สะพานหน is their Yam Pla Dook Fu (Thai catfish Salad) - the best in Phuket.

The restaurant itself serves you in the Traditional Thai way of sitting around a low table but there is also the opportunity to sit on a chair - we choose the traditional way.

As mentioned we always have the Catfish Salad so I could not tell you what else we have but it is all extremely cheap. It does taste good with a Singha...

Don't forget to visit the Chinese Shrine near by - Kiew Tian Keng

We have visited previously:

 1) March 2013
 2) March 2014
 3) July 2014

Approximate Price: $$$$$
Address: Sapan Hin (see the map)

Wat Chalong Temple Fair Pt. 2 (2016)

A Temple Fair is a another reason to visit a Wat - but it is very different and we returned again - but were not to do the same thing again. So today we;

Purchased some Star Wars toys...

Wondered why there was a gun game in a Buddhist Temple...

So many wristwatches.

Got duped by these games - they offer you a dart to throw against the balloon - which you take and then they want the money for the dart you just threw...

Then it was time to knock down the tin cans.

Time to feed the goats - with a baby milk bottle.

We did wonder where the people were for this game...

Wondered whether they had permission to use all these characters on the Bouncy Castle?

Wonder whether the is company knew about their shoes?

Then something to eat? A crab?

Not sure about having a tattoo here even if it was not permanent?

See you again Wat Chalong
